Oney

The Oney Family Lineage

"In every thing give thanks:  for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you."  ~1 Thessalonians 5:18

Praise the Lord family! The history of the Oneys' began a long time ago. However, I will start with my paternal grandfather, Manford Oney, Sr., better known as "Jake" and his wife, Blanch Truitt, who together, had twelve (12) children. From the twelve, our dad, Manford Oney, Jr., better known as "Muff" is the 3rd from the oldest.
Daddy Muff was from Laurel, Delaware. He married Dorothy Dupont from Florida at the age of 16 years old. They were simply young and in love.

Mother would become desperately ill with Tuberculous (TB) at an early age and was told by doctors that she would not live to see her 19th birthday. While she was in the hospital for 5.5 years, our dad did his best to keep us together in the home of his mom and dad. God had other plans for our mother and allowed her to live, have more children and evangelize to the ripe age of 74.
We were blessed to be in a big family.... 8 children total with two bonus sisters. We grew up in the little town of Laurel, Delaware. We did not have many material possessions; yet we had the best things accorded to (1 Cor. 13:13) "And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity." We had plenty of love one for another. It was a known fact that if you messed with one Oney, you had the whole family to contend with.

The children from this loving family are Shirley, Doris, Manford, Jr., Robert Earl, Ella, James, William Gene and Brian.  The two bonus sisters are Joan Redwood and Rosalie Day, who passed this year.  From these children are the grands and great-grands, as follows:

The Oney Family is blessed by God and doing well, prosperous and growing.  Let's let Brotherly love continue.  I pray that the Lord continues to strengthen our family unit, because nothing should come between the bond of family.  We are a large family with a document history that goes back to the early 1800s. Our future and our children's children future should cherish in the pride of belonging.  They should learn of our heritage and lineage to share for many years to come.

Mincy

The Mincy Family Lineage

 When Oney meets Mincy..

Doris left Laurel, Delaware at 14yrs old with a 5-month-old baby coming to Florida to live with her mother, whom she had not seen since she was 10 years old. Little did she know that she would meet Ike Paul Mincy and The Mincy clan of 22 siblings, 12 boys and 10 girls. At this time Doris did not know what God had in store for her but God had a plan for her.   For I know the plans I have for you.  Jeremiah 29:11

Meeting this huge Mincy tribe was an amazing thing to see, they were God fearing, hardworking, humble, givers and they shared with others in the community, schools and church. The Mincy family LOVED one another and family was first.  After 4 years of dating, Ike and Doris got married September 23, 1967, now 55 years later and they’re still together.

To honor a few of the Mincy family siblings: Agnes, Johnnie, Annie Bell, Margaret, Tommie Lee, Mae Bell, Big Sister, Viola, Maxine, Mattie, Leroy, Jimmie, Sam, Doug, Ape, Joe, Hosea, Porter.

Oscar David, Truman and Ike are the only living Mincy siblings.

Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him. Psalms 123:3

Family has been the for front of the Mincy Family, Ike and Doris are the patron and matron of The Mincy family. Their faith in God and the love they have for people and what they have instilled in their children (Bethina Duhart, Anita Barnes, Janice Faith Mincy-Harris and Ike Mincy, Jr., grandchildren (Titus Nicholson, Quantajah Nash, Amonte Ellis, Jordyn Marie, Ike III and Gabe Mincy), nieces and nephews, God children, friends and all the people they encounter.
